Rope Access Window Cleaning

Abseil and rope access window cleaning across London

London is our primary area. Its mix of glass office towers, high-density residential blocks and tight streets with little room for ground-based equipment makes rope access one of the most practical ways to keep facades clean.

Buildings

Buildings we work on in London

Offices & commercial towers

Curtain-walled offices in the City, the West End, Docklands and the growing business districts across the boroughs, where pavement space is limited and disruption matters.

Residential towers & apartment blocks

Purpose-built blocks and new residential towers across inner and outer London, from riverside developments to regeneration areas, where residents can't reach the outside of their windows.

Mixed-use & build-to-rent

Buildings with retail at street level and homes or offices above, where cleaning must work around shops, entrances and residents.

Atriums, stations & public buildings

Large internal glazed spaces and complex roofs where a cherry picker can't be brought in.

Planning the work

What's different about working in London

Little ground space
Narrow pavements, red routes and busy entrances often rule out cherry pickers. Rope access only needs a managed exclusion zone below each drop.
Parking, permits & charges
Vehicle access, loading restrictions, the Congestion Charge and ULEZ vary across London. We plan van access and any borough requirements as part of the job.
Building management rules
Many London buildings have concierge sign-in, permit-to-work systems and set working hours. We plan around them from the start.
Anchor records
Buildings often change hands or managing agents, and anchor records get lost. We can inspect and certify anchors before cleaning.

What to ask any rope access contractor

Whoever you appoint, these documents should be available before anyone goes over the edge of your roof. Ask us for ours with your quote.

  • Rope access technician certificates (for example IRATA or SPRAT) for the people on your job, in date
  • A site-specific risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) before work starts
  • A rescue plan, and a named supervisor on site
  • Evidence that the anchors being used have a current inspection record
  • Public and employers' liability insurance certificates
  • Clear scope: which elevations, which glass and frames, and what is excluded

FAQs

Questions about rope access in London

Do you need to close the pavement to abseil in London?

Usually not fully. We set up a managed exclusion zone below the drop being worked on, using barriers and a ground person where needed. If a full pavement or road closure is needed, the permit has to come from the relevant highway authority (the borough council, or TfL on red routes), and we'll tell you at the quote stage.

Can you work on buildings with concierge and permit-to-work systems?

Yes. Send us the building's contractor rules with your enquiry and we'll include the required RAMS, insurance documents and sign-in arrangements in our planning.

Do you cover outer London boroughs as well as central London?

Yes. We cover Greater London. Include the postcode with your enquiry so we can confirm.
